PHOTOGRAPHY WITH TEENAGERS AND OLDER CHILDREN
Photographing older children and teenagers is great fun, and brings lots of exciting challenges for the photographer. Unlike a two-year-old child who will happily run around oblivious to the camera, photographing older children involves rather more interaction. I work incredibly hard to make sure that the sessions are great fun, and that everyone enjoys themselves – whether they love having their picture taken, or whether their preferred activity is playing on the Xbox (in fact, I take a mean Xbox photo!).
CAPTURING THE FUN OF FAMILY LIFE
While photographing older children and teenagers, it is best to include activities that you all enjoy as a family, and to also incorporate the children’s hobbies and interests into the photo shoot – whether that is playing musical instruments, art, sport, walking the beloved family dog in the woods, or just hanging out on the beach with mum and dad. Please do warn me in advance about more adventurous activities as I may need to bring specific kit (I’ve found a waterproof covering for my camera really helps in a speedboat!).
RELAXED FAMILY PHOTOGRAPHY TAKEN ON LOCATION
As with all my portrait sessions, I will spend a morning with you so that we have no time constraints – we have flexibility to take pictures at home, visit a favourite place nearby, or we can go on an excursion slightly further afield – to the seaside or the countryside, for example, which can be great fun for teens and brings a holiday atmosphere to your shoot, producing pictures full of fun and laughter.
